Passing the Torch: Forward Bible Camp Appoints New Director.

The Board of Forward Bible Camp is pleased to announce the appointment of TJ Morris to be the Executive Director of Forward Bible Camp beginning January 1, 2026. TJ and Charissa Morris have served together at Forward Bible Camp for 19 years, and TJ is known and loved by the Forward Bible Camp community. He brings many skills and giftings to this position. His faithful service under and alongside our current Executive Director , Mitch McEfee, has uniquely prepared TJ to serve in this capacity. Charissa has been an integral part of the camp ministry by teaching, organizing, and serving. Best of all, TJ and Charissa demonstrate a sincere love for the Lord and a great desire to see kids come to, and to grow in, a relationship with Christ. 

The Board also expresses its deep and sincere gratitude to our current Executive Director, Mitch McEfee, and his wife, Tami, for their faithful service to the camp. Mitch has been the camp’s Executive Director for 25 years and Tami has ministered extensively with music and bookkeeping over the years, as well as in many other ways. Mitch has provided strong and wise leadership. He spearheaded many physical improvements for the camp, including new bathrooms, a new nurse’s station, a reconfigured chapel, and the building of a level and permanently covered dining area. Most importantly, Mitch sought to make the Camp a growing place for all who came - campers, cabin leaders, volunteers, summer missionaries, interns, and camp staff. In all of these things, Mitch and Tami’s love for the Lord have been evident to all. 

While Mitch will still be available to help Forward Bible Camp from time to time, his future work as a missionary with InFaith will include serving other ministries with the preaching, teaching, and the building skills God has given him. The Board is also planning an appreciation reception for Mitch and Tami during the afternoon of Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Cold Springs Church in Placerville. Details will follow.
